In an era abuzz with digitalisation, one area relatively unstirred by its Midas touch is the elaborate process of claims management. Due to the absence of digital tools, or instruction manuals, the claims process continues to be an arduous task with no standard procedure followed while filing an insurance claim. Filling in forms, waiting for call centre assistance, sending emails and retrieving all the relevant documents becomes a tedious and tiring process for both the insured and the insurance companies. Facing a similar predicament in his career, while managing over 270,000 claims for different insurance companies set Francesco Bertani thinking of how to simplify the claims management process. The search for an intuitive solution that ensures a hassle-free claims process led Bertani to lay the cornerstone of Claider.

Every claims professional has a personalised web application on the platform with varied functionalities, which allows them to work toward processing the digital claims faster

The Milano-based company offers digital assistance in insurance claims through its application that is available in the iOS and Google Play stores and a web platform. “Our app helps the insured in reporting any kind of damage or incident and connects them to their claims officers, intermediaries, insurance specialists, claims adjusters and fleet managers,” says Bertani, founder and CEO of Claider.
Claider’s holistic, all-in-one app allows the insured to check, process and send claims to the insurance companies at a keystroke, making communication all the more effective between the insured and the insurer. Comprising more than 140 different claim scenarios, which work for all kinds of policies and every insurance company, the app helps the insured to register their insurance claim and upload the relevant documents and images through a set of simple and intuitive steps. “Users only need to follow the given suggestions and require no prior knowledge to fill in the required data while the digital “Tap and Claim” application writes and sends a complete claim report to the insurance company on their behalf, which is not a simple FNOC but the information included in the claims report is more than 60% of the complete loss adjusters report.” remarks Bertani.

From claims to compensation, the app digitalises insurance management and connects all the associated professionals such as intermediaries, appraisers, claim managers, loss adjusters and fleet managers who work in the claims process. Elaborating further on Claider’s app, Bertani explains, “Every claims professional has a personalised web application on the platform with varied functionalities, which allows them to work toward processing the digital claims faster and manage the claims sent by the insured.”

What sets Claider a class apart from the rest in the industry is their ability to provide a comprehensive claim management platform, which fully digitalises the insurance management process and helps the insured in registering a claim effortlessly. With several success stories up its sleeve, Claider is piquing interest amongst many players in the insurance industry. Bertani recalls the case of an Italian broker who approached Claider for assistance in recognising and digitalising the valid data of their customers. Claider’s app helped the broker in digitalising the claims process, and in turn, acquire relevant knowledge about customers from the data of their registered claims besides the information from their policy subscription data.

In its endeavour to better serve the insurance landscape, Claider plans to expand the functionality of the platform by incorporating voice recognition technology in the first half of the upcoming year. Continuing on its innovation spree, the team also intends to introduce blockchain to strengthen the guarantee of the insurance covered properties. As a part of digital enhancement, Claider is working on smart data and offering digital tools to insurance professionals to better analyse the data of their customers. Claider’s geographical roadmap entails expanding into the UK, France and Germany and entering the U.S markets by the end of 2020.
